After your treatment, collagen and elastin will rebuild over four to six weeks, giving you noticeable results. The full effects of your Potenza treatment will become apparent after about 12 weeks.
We generally recommend three Potenza sessions for best results, but this varies by case. We'll recommend a treatment timeline during your initial consultation at our Reno, NV, plastic surgery office and med spa.
Your skin should heal and you should see an improvement in about seven days. In the meantime, we recommend that you:
During and after your procedure, you may experience side effects like mild redness, pinpoint bleeding, skin flaking, tingling, irritation, and a burning sensation. These are temporary and should subside within a few hours to a few days. In the meantime, don't pick at your skin, as this can be damaging and cause further problems.
As you heal from your microneedling treatment, be sure to treat your skin gently. You may be advised not to wash your skin that day to allow serums to absorb, but you may also be advised to use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid using harsh products like retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C for several days.
After microneedling treatment, your healing skin will be particularly sensitive to the sun's rays. Stay out of the sun if you can and wear sunscreen. In the long term, we recommend wearing sunscreen every day and protective clothing like sunglasses and hats.
Makeup can introduce bacteria into your healing skin, so we recommend not wearing it for several days after your treatment to minimize the risk of infection and maximize your results. Our team will let you know when you can wear makeup again.
Working out and sweating can clog your pores and cause breakouts. We recommend you take it easy as your skin heals. You should also avoid saunas, steam rooms, pools, and hot baths for a few days.
