Comfort
In some cases, your esthetician may numb your skin before treatment. However, JUVÉDERM contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Thanks to the lidocaine and the option to use the Pro-Nox system, patients typically experience minimal discomfort.
Inject
Your esthetician will carefully inject the hyaluronic acid-based gel into the predetermined areas.
Return to Your Day
The injections involve no downtime and only minimal side effects like redness, so you can return to work or other activities immediately after your appointment.
JUVÉDERM Aftercare Tips
You should be able to see results immediately following your JUVÉDERM appointment. Many patients only need one appointment to achieve the look they desire, and results can last a year or more.
JUVÉDERM results in no downtime, but you may experience mild side effects like redness, swelling, sensitivity, and bruising at the injection sites. These symptoms should fade on their own in a few days. Non-prescription medications and ice packs are typically sufficient to ease any discomfort.
For best results, be sure to avoid sun exposure, strenuous exercise, and alcohol consumption for 24 hours after your appointment. Don’t touch the injection sites, as this can cause the gel to migrate.
