The health and welfare of our patients is of our utmost concern.

In accordance with the recommendations of the CDC and Governor Sisolak’s recommendation to the state of Nevada, we have closed our medical spa for any procedures and treatments.

We are seeing post op patients, and any of our patients that need medical care.

Although we will not be doing any medical Spa Treatments, we would love to book your future appointments and look forward to seeing you hopefully after April 20th.

If anything changes with the date of us opening up to patients, we will post it here.

We are still taking phone calls, and can schedule consults and appointments.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Fat Transfer to Gluteal Area

Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL

is a “two in one” surgery.  Dr. Murphy removes fat with liposuction from various areas such as the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs.  Once the fat is removed, it is processed and Dr. Murphy then injects it into the subcutaneous tissue around the gluteal area. This increases the volume of the gluteal area while reducing the fat in those “hard to lose areas” which creates a more feminine, hourglass figure. By using the patient’s own fat, no implant is needed and there is no risk of implant rupture or displacement. The procedure is done with local anesthesia in our office, which has reduced risk compared to general anesthesia. The technique and skill is very important as we want your body to retain as much fat in the gluteal area as possible.  This means small amounts of fat are “feathered” in to each side.  By injecting the fat in small alloquots the fat has more of a chance to regain a blood supply and remain in the area that it has been injected.

As mentioned in the blog about board certification, most people are not fully sure of what “board certified” really means. Any medical doctor can legally perform plastic or cosmetic surgery regardless of their training, or lack thereof.  Surprisingly these physicians may call themselves plastic surgeons as well. Many physicians across the country call themselves plastic and reconstructive surgeons but have not completed a plastic surgery residency. If you want to obtain the best possible outcome it is extremely vital for patients to choose a highly qualified and extensively trained board-certified plastic surgeon who performs these procedures regularly, with successful results.  Any surgery, whether it be elective or not, has some risk.  When choosing a highly qualified plastic surgeon, your risks are greatly reduced.

I strongly suggest doing your homework before choosing a surgeon.  Research credentials and board certification affiliations. How often does he or she perform this procedure?  Always view before and after pictures of the procedures of the surgeons you are considering.  Compare surgeons' work to each other.  By doing these easy things you will be able to make an informed decision about the surgeon you choose.
