Healing
The Brazilian butt lift procedure does not result in nearly as much swelling, discomfort, and bruising as implant surgery. However, these side effects might be more apparent at the liposuction treatment site. Typically, over-the-counter pain medication, rest, and drinking plenty of water can help you feel more comfortable and encourage healing.Compression Garment
Patients must wear a compression garment to aid in healing, reduce swelling, and smooth out their results. A compression garment helps the body support the new shape of your buttocks. This is worn for several weeks after the procedure to ensure the best results.Returning to Work
Typically, patients will need to take at least two weeks off of work to recover from surgery. Sitting
In order to retain as much fat as possible after surgery, it is important to avoid putting excess pressure on the buttocks for about two weeks. Patients should avoid sitting on their buttocks or sleeping on their backs. During this time, patients should lie on their side or stomach or use pillows to prop up the buttocks to avoid compromising the healing process until eight weeks after surgery.
Limit
Exercising
Patients should avoid exercising for six to eight weeks after treatment. Exercising can cause you to lose some of the newly injected fat cells. Keep in mind that it is normal to lose some transplanted fat after a Brazilian butt lift. However, by following our post-surgical instructions, patients can retain up to 70 percent of the injected fat. The final results of treatment are apparent three months after surgery.
Maintain Good Health
While patients should avoid strenuous activity after fat transfer injections and liposuction, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and resume exercise when recovery is complete. Following a healthy diet and exercise routine is critical to maintaining the results of a Brazilian butt lift and other body contouring procedures. Our surgeon will clear you for more strenuous exercise once you are ready.
