Traditional/Anchor Mastopexy with Implants
More pronounced ptosis will require the removal of more skin tissue. To achieve this, Dr. Murphy can provide a traditional mastopexy with implants. It involves an anchor-shaped incision placed around the areola, a single vertical incision from the areola to the breast crease, and a vertical incision along the breast crease. Breast implants are used to achieve enhanced size and shape in addition to a lift.
Traditional/Anchor Mastopexy without Implants
Your treatment will be carefully tailored to your goals. If you require more extensive tissue removal than a Benelli lift involves, and do not wish to enhance the size or shape of your breasts beyond what a traditional lift can provide, Dr. Murphy can perform a traditional/anchor mastopexy without breast implants. In other cases, patients need a combination of the two procedures to achieve the results they envision. Let’s have a look at each procedure to help you better understand which might fit your goals:
Breast Lift
A breast lift removes excess skin and elevates the breasts and nipples to a more youthful position while leaving the majority of breast tissue intact. The result is a fuller-looking breast with the nipples sitting above the lower breast crease. Once the skin tissue is removed and the incisions are closed, the result is a gravity-defying new, fuller breast shape. Unlike breast reduction, which removes both excess skin and breast tissue to reach a smaller size, the aim of a breast lift is to eliminate sagging without eliminating existing breast tissue.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation involves placing breast implants within the breasts to enhance their size and shape. Breast augmentation does not involve removing skin or breast tissue.
